CSE acknowledged in White House Computer Science Education Week press release

For Computer Science Education Week, December 5-12, 2016, The White House has announced support of new programs in its press release “Fact Sheet: A Year of Action Supporting Computer Science for All.” Dr. Stephanie Ludi, CSE Professor, is responsible for the new program that our CSE Department, in partnership with Perkins School for the Blind and the California School for the Blind, will pilot a new version of the JBrick robotics programming software, the Glance data analysis tool, and an accessible version of Blockly to support visually impaired students in learning CS.  Additionally, the team will test an accessible block-based programming tool for visually impaired students over the next year, with the aim of ultimately enabling visually impaired students to participate in Hour of Code and similar activities. CSE Doctoral Students tackle the newest threats in cybersecurity

CSE Professor Dr. Ram Dantu directs UNT's Center for Information and Computer Security. UNT is the only university in the country to receive NSF funding of more than $1 million for a Scholarship for Service program for Ph.D. students studying cybersecurity. UNT's team of six Scholarship for Service students research topics including cyber physical security, insider threats, intrusion detection, data breaches, health information technology, identity management, big data security analysis and more. Prof. Saraju Mohanty named Editor-in-Chief of Consumer Electronics

Dr. Ram Dantu wins Outstanding Technology Advocate Award

Congratulations to CSE Professor Dr. Ram Dantu, Director of the UNT Center for Information and Computer Security, on winning the "Outstanding Technology Advocate" award at the inaugural D CEO CIO/CTO awards ceremony on September 27, 2016! A partnership between D CEO magazine and the Information Systems Security Association, this program honors chief information officers, chief technology officers, and other in top IT posts in the North Texas Region. Dr. Dantu thanks all his past and present students in the Network Security Lab and said they are the reason for the recognition. See all the winners here.
