The University of North Texas (UNT), a Tier 1 Research Institution (Carnegie Classification as a Doctoral University: Highest Research Activity), invites applications for the following faculty position in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering (CSE).
The University of North Texas Department of Computer Science and Engineering invites nominations and applications for The Lupe Murchison Endowed Professorship. The individual occupying this position would be expected to provide intellectual leadership in developing outstanding interdisciplinary research programs funded by external sources to support the mission of UNT. The individual will hold a tenured full Professor position in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering. She/he is expected to develop strong collaborative research programs with researchers within and outside the department, teach CSE undergraduate and graduate courses, support and mentor graduate and undergraduate students, and provide professional and public service activities in the best interest of our students, the Department of Computer Science and Engineering, and the College of Engineering at UNT. Offers of employment for this position will be made dependent upon available funding.
To be competitive, applicants must demonstrate the following qualifications: PhD or equivalent in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field; a publication record that is national/international in scope; and a demonstrated record of innovative and experimental approaches to education. All areas will be considered. Areas of special interest include: algorithms and computational science, computer security, computer systems, embedded and real-time systems, computer networking, data science, machine learning and AI, and software engineering.

The Computer Science and Engineering department is home to 13 Professors, 10 Associate Professors, 5 Assistant Professors, 5 Lecturers, over 100 Ph.D. students, almost 200 master students, and over 1100 bachelor students. We offer a Ph.D. degree in Computer Science and Engineering, M. S. degrees in Computer Science and Computer Engineering, ABET-accredited B. S. degrees in Computer Science and Computer Engineering, and an ABET-accredited B. A. degree in Information Technology.
