The Department of Computer Science and Engineering was recently designated as a National Center of Academic Excellence in Cyber Defense Education at the National Initiative for Cybersecurity Education (NICE Conference & Expo 2017) held November 7-8, 2017 in Dayton, OH. The redesignation is good through Academic Year 2022. This is the fourth renewal of UNT, which is one of the few schools continuing in the Centers for Excellence since inception.
