The GenCyber Cybersecurity Program at UNT will host four summer camps for middle and high school students who are in the 7th-11th grades (i.e., rising 8th to 12th grades in Fall 2023).

The four camps are scheduled in the following weeks in June
  • June 5 - June 9, 2023
  • June 12 - June 16, 2023
  • June 19 - June 23, 2023
  • June 26 - June 30, 2023

All camps are face-to-face, day camps from Monday to Friday in a week. The daily hours of the camps are from 9am to 4:30pm, including a one-hour lunch break, a morning break, and an afternoon break. Each day's instruction will include short lecture-based presentations, class and group discussions, and hands-on activities and exercises. Hardware devices will be mailed to the participants before each camp.

Major Activities
  • Each lesson in a daily camp will include a short lecture-based presentation, class and group discussion, break-out activities and hands-on activities and exercises (both individual and collaborative activities).
  • At least half of the instructional hours will be spent on hands-on exercises in order to learn how to integrate cybersecurity principles/concepts and technologies into their curriculum.
  • By the end of the camp, participating students will not only understand the cybersecurity concepts and first principles, but will also be familiar with some real-world cybersecurity tools and techniques through hands-on labs.
